Wrinkle Treatment Services
Rejuvenate your appearance with our wrinkle relaxer injectables. From Botox® to Xeomin®, our injections provide quick and safe solutions to help reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles.
All of the wrinkle relaxers work off of the same basic mechanism: temporarily paralyzing the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation, resulting in younger, smoother-looking skin. The nerve impulses that normally contract the muscles are interrupted. The active element in wrinkle relaxers is botulinum toxin type A. Subcutaneous muscular relaxation is the intended effect of this neuromodulator.
Wrinkle-causing face muscles receive an injection of wrinkle relaxer to relax them temporarily. This calms down the concerned muscles without limiting the client’s facial expressions of emotion.

Who Is a Candidate For Wrinkle Relaxers?
Wrinkle relaxers are a cosmetic treatment suitable for adults who wish to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on their face. In general, candidates should:
- Be in good overall health: Candidates should be generally healthy and have no medical conditions that would make the treatment risky or unsafe.
- Have realistic expectations: Candidates should clearly understand what wrinkle relaxers can and cannot do and have realistic expectations about the results.
- Be bothered by wrinkles and fine lines: Candidates should be unhappy with wrinkles and fine lines on their face and wish to improve their appearance.
- Not being pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Not having a history of allergic reactions to wrinkle relaxers.
It is important to consult with a qualified medical professional to determine if wrinkle relaxers are the right treatment for you. The medical professional will evaluate your health history, skin type, and the severity of your wrinkles and fine lines.
We offer the following wrinkle relaxer options:
Botox Injection
Botox®: First botulinum toxin type A medication on the market, studies have shown to help treat depression, migraines, jaw clenching in addition to wrinkles. Botox® is FDA-approved for wrinkle treatment.
The effects are visible within 48 hours, with maximum results visible after 7-14 days. While these effects are temporary, you can expect them to last 3-6 months before needing to repeat the treatment.
Dysport Injection
Second botulinum toxin type A wrinkle relaxer on the market to be FDA Approved. Dysport® has recently become one of the top injectable treatments for smoothing wrinkles and lines on the face.
One of the most important benefits of Dysport ® is its speed of action. Dysport ® works quickly to reduce wrinkles and lines on the face. This fast action makes Dysport® ideal for those who want to reduce wrinkles without waiting long periods for results.
A difference between Botox® and Dysport® relates to dosage. On average, Dysport® requires a slightly larger volume of product in order to achieve the desired results when compared to Botox®. This means that those using Dysport® may experience quicker results, but will likely need more frequent treatments in order to maintain the same level of efficacy as Botox®.
The effects are visible within 48 hours, with maximum results visible after 7-14 days. While these effects are temporary, you can expect them to last 4-6 months before needing to repeat the treatment.
Jeuveau Injection
Jeuveau® (pronounced “Ja-vo”, rhymes with “hello”) is a botulinum toxin type A medication that is nearly identical to Botox® and has been authorized by the FDA. The manufacturer uses ultra-purification techniques that result in the “purest” wrinkle relaxer on the market. It also typically has the fastest onset of all toxins. It’s a great option for people who have gotten headaches from previous wrinkle relaxer treatments.
The effects are visible within 48 hours, with maximum results visible after 7-14 days. While these effects are temporary, you can expect them to last 4-6 months before needing to repeat the treatment.
Xeomin Injection
Xeomin® is a botulinum toxin type A medication that is nearly identical to Botox® and has been authorized by the FDA for fine lines and wrinkles. Xeomin®, like other wrinkle relaxers, is injected into your muscles to minimize movement and, by extension, wrinkles.
Xeomin® has a “naked” version of botulinum toxin, which is the fundamental distinction between it and Botox®. Xeomin® is constructed to deliver the toxin without any protein additions. This makes Xeomin® a great choice for people who don’t want added proteins or have suffered headaches after other wrinkle relaxer treatments. It may be an option for those who have developed allergies to the other relaxers as it’s believed the reaction is from these stabilizing proteins.
Xeomin® may be more effective and have a longer duration of action due to the purity of its toxin. Typically, the effects are visible within 48 hours. While these effects are temporary, you can expect them to last 4-6 months before needing to repeat the treatment.
What do I need to do to get ready for the wrinkle relaxer procedure?
We are excited to help you get ready for your wrinkle relaxer appointment!
For your wrinkle relaxer appointment, modifying your skin care routine isn’t necessary. However, if possible, please consider coming in with a clean face (no makeup) as you will have to remove this prior to treatment.
There are a few things you should try to avoid for 48 hours prior to your appointment: St. Johns Wort, aspirin and ibuprofen, blood thinners, alcohol, vitamin E and fish oils. These may increase your chance of bleeding and bruising from the procedure.
If you have any questions about your medications or supplements, make sure you talk to Dr. Esmay as he may have a specific recommendation for you.
Please plan your day accordingly, as you may leave the office with some mild swelling at the injection sites. There is no restriction in your skin care or makeup routine following treatment.
- Try to exercise your treated muscles for the first hour after treatment (example: practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting). This helps to work the treatment into your muscles. Although this may help your procedure outcome, it will NOT negatively impact your treatment if you forget to do so.
- Do NOT have a facial, nor rub or massage the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment.
- Do NOT lie down or do strenuous exercise for three hours after treatment. Also, avoid any exposure to a sauna, hot tub or tanning for four hours. This will prevent your blood pressure from rising and thus minimize the risk of bruising after treatment.
- Please be aware that some, though very few patients, experience a mild headache. You may take Tylenol to help with this for pain relief.
- Rest assured that any slight blemishes or minor discoloration you may experience should quickly fade away within a couple of hours. While there is a minimal chance of bruising, don’t let that worry you—any potential bruising can easily be hidden with makeup and will only last up to a week.
- After Botox®, Jeuveau®, Dysport® or Xeomin® is placed into the targeted muscles, the relaxation effect gradually begins anywhere from 3-7 days and is not complete for two weeks. Therefore, optimal results are not seen for at least two weeks.
- Botox®, Jeuveau®, Dysport® or Xeomin® will last approximately 2-3 months at first. However, if you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended, the duration of each treatment result may last longer than four months
